Rocky Point Fire & EMS and Coronavirus

Dear Rocky Point Citizens:

First of all I would like to say thank you for all of your support to the  Fire  Department. Our volunteers are a very valuable resource for the  community. With all the COVID -19 virus we are recommending the following  actions:

  1. If you are sick please stay home . This will help limit exposure to the  community and the spread of any virus.
  2. If you think you have the flu or the COVID -19 virus  AND YOU ARE  ABLE to drive yourself or have a friend that can do it, call your doctor and  make an appointment. The  emergency room is getting full and it takes a  long time to get seen. This will also help limit the exposure to our volunteers.
  3. If volunteers are exposed and you test positive for the COVID_19 virus,  they will be quarantined for 14 days and not be able to respond to calls. Please  let the Fire Department know if you are sick and the nature of your  illness.
  4. If you call 911, they will ask you if you have a fever, have been  exposed to the virus or traveled within a certain time frame. They will then  relay the information to the responding ambulance. Don't be shocked to see the  volunteers in masks and gowns. Rest assured we will transport those who need  it.
  5. If you have not done so, Please stock up on daily items you need  including your medications.  Also let your neighbors know if they can pick  up items in town for you .

If you have any questions, Please leave a message at the fire department,  and we will return your call,

Thank you and please stay safe..
